Alyssa ShenFilerman began dancing at age six at the Deborah Mason School of Dance, going on to study Horton Modern, Ballet, Jazz and Tap Dance. In 2015 she followed her passion and transitioned to focus solely on tap dance, studying with Ian Berg. She has been lucky enough to take class the last two years with Lady Dianne Walker, and has participated in Sarah Reich’s Tap Music Project, Beantown Tap Festival, Tap City and the DC Tap Festival. In 2018 she began apprenticing for Subject:Matter Tap. She is currently studying at NYU Gallatin, including Tap History as part of her concentration, as well as pursuing tap dancing in the city.
